Classmate is a writing feedback platform I founded to help students write more effectively. The core idea: AI like ChatGPT makes it almost impossible to get useful, educational feedback — it either rewrites your work or gives you nothing actionable. Classmate does it differently.
The Problem
Students need feedback that helps them grow, not feedback that does the work for them. Generic AI tools either rewrite your essay entirely or offer vague praise. And getting real feedback from a teacher or peer takes time most students don't have.
What I Built
Classmate gives contextual, personalized writing feedback in under a minute. Paste in your essay and get specific, inline comments — not rewrites. The feedback highlights what's working, flags what's weak, and explains why, so students actually learn from it.
My Role
As founder, I handled brand strategy, product design, and full-stack development end-to-end. I iterated on the product based on feedback from student users, with a focus on making AI feel like a thoughtful coach rather than a ghostwriter.
